Dr. Meghan Tierney

Hi, I'm Dr. Meghan Tierney

I started Sorrel because too many women are managing their health inside a system that gives them fifteen-minute visits, a different face every time, and everything else to figure out alone.

I'm a family physician with additional training in obesity medicine and menopause care. I wanted a practice where primary care could be slower, easier to reach, and closer to how women actually live.

At Sorrel that means longer visits, easier communication, and a physician who knows your history, respects your goals, and can help coordinate what comes next.

I'm not here to tell you who to be. I'm here to take you seriously, think carefully with you, and make your care easier to get.

Take care,
Dr. Tierney

Care for the person who takes care of everyone else

You keep track of the appointments, the medications, the meals, the school forms, the family needs, and the hundred things no one else seems to notice. Your own care shouldn't be one more system you manage alone.

You've heard all of these before

Most women arriving at Sorrel have already done the rounds. Three specialists, a stack of normal labs, and a symptom list nobody has read end to end.

It's probably just stress.

Stress is real, and it's also the answer people reach for when the visit is running out of time. Fatigue, brain fog and broken sleep get a real workup here.

Your labs came back normal.

Normal is a range, not a verdict. When results don't match how you feel, that gap is the interesting part, and it's where we keep looking.

Have you tried losing weight first?

Weight-neutral care means your metabolic health gets real, evidence-based attention without weight loss being the price of admission.

You're too young for menopause.

Perimenopause commonly starts in the early forties and sometimes sooner. Dr. Tierney is certified by The Menopause Society, so it's the center of the practice.

  • Sleep disruption
  • Symptoms that flare with stress, food, cycles, illness, or exertion

If you've wondered about POTS, MCAS, hypermobility and hEDS, long COVID, or chronic fatigue, you're welcome here. We start with careful primary care.

Does any of this sound like your last few years?

If you check three or more, you are exactly who this practice was built for.

  • You're tired in a way sleep doesn't fix.
  • Your labs came back normal and you didn't feel relieved.
  • Brain fog is affecting work you used to do easily.
  • Your cycle, sleep, or mood changed and nobody connected them.
  • You were told to lose weight before anything else got looked at.
  • You've researched your own symptoms more than any doctor has.
  • You see three specialists and none of them talk to each other.
  • You've been told it's stress, anxiety, or just getting older.
  • You've wondered whether it's perimenopause, ADHD, or long COVID.
  • You've felt judged for your body size, your identity, or how you think.

You do not have to manage your health alone, prove your symptoms are real, or become your own doctor to get good care. Dr. Tierney is dual certified in obesity medicine and menopause, so these don't get split across four referrals. They get worked up together.
